This luxuriously soft cotton chenille wrap over robe has a beautiful set-in belt that is sewn into the robe (shown above) - a unique feature of chenille robes which will nip in the waist when tied and give the wearer a more flattering shape whilst ensuring that the belt will never get lost. Another unique feature is the intricate tufted scroll detailing on both the belt and sleeves, where swirls are raised up from the main body of the chenille robe in the same material to give a beautiful effect.

Our classic button front closure cotton chenille robe is a perennial favourite of ours and our customers. The button front design keeps to wearer warm, while the breathable cotton keeps the wearer comfortable.

The main body of this robe is in a special wide rib design, which gives a very subtle slimming effect. The collar and cuffs are made in cotton chenille, to give a contrast effect.

The robe shown is in the mink colour shown, but is now available in the loganberry and moonshine blue only.

Zip Robe With Hood In Exclusive Speckle Chenille

This hood zip chenille robe has more contemporary styling.

The chenille cloth used has been especially developed by us to give a speckle effect. There is white yarn amongst the predominently black pile, this is an effect which can only be achieved on chenille.

My partner is always complaining about her head getting cold, after a shower, so for those who feel the same, the robe has a hood.

In the image this dressing gown is shown as two tone, but we are now manufacturing this in plain black and plain moonshine, in response to customer feedback

In search of bed jackets

Well, if you're like me, an American living in the United Kingdom then chances are you are probably wondering "What the heck is a bed jacket?" My sentiments exactly. Yup, I've never heard of such a thing as a bed jacket and it sure as heck made me wonder. Was a bed jacket something they put on a bed? Kind of like a mattress cover and call it a bed jacket? Or perhaps it's some sort of food item just like the 'jacket potato', which coincidentally is quite yummy. Or maybe it's some sort of exotic animal? When you're in a foreign country where the mail is referred to as the 'post' and Derby (which is a place) is spelled with an 'e' but pronounced as Darby then who really knows? Certainly not this fish out of its Pacific waters.

Well, to solve the burning question on what exactly is a bed jacket it's quite simple really. It's just that. A bed jacket is a sort of jacket worn to bed. Quite brilliant when you really stop to think about it. A bed jacket is a shorter version of a dressing gown or robe (referred to as such by our American counterparts) that can be worn pretty much all the times you would wear a dressing gown but don't need the extra fabric around your legs. For example, say you're just popping out of the house to take the trash out to the bin, so you grab your bed jacket and toss it over your pyjamas. A bed jacket is like a warm cardigan but warmer and fluffier and nicer to put on. That's right. I've purchased my very first bed jacket and it won't be the last.

Bed jackets are so comfortable and easy to put on. Bed jackets keep you warm on top and provide ease of mobility. Additionally, when lying down in bed or sitting down reading a book, I find I'm not sitting down on extra fabric if I was wearing a dressing gown. So bed jackets really a versatile piece of fashion and I'm glad I discovered them. My bed jacket is in an ice-blue chenille fabric. Warm enough for chilly mornings and fashionable to wear with my jeans when popping into the grocery store. Wait, I don't think that's what grocery stores are called here but I digress. Grocery store or not, bed jackets are the way to go and I'm buying some for all my sisters in Oak Park, Illinois. That's near Chicago if anyone is wondering about that. Pretty far to come in search of bed jackets but well worth the journey I'd say.

So now let's talk about the different styles of bed jackets I've come across. Might as well share this knowledge I say, in case someone else is wondering the same thing about bed jackets. My bed jacket, the same ice-blue one is a button up style which I like since it gives a classy look. The bed jacket I'm looking to purchase as my second piece is a pure white chenille one with a zipper closing. I think that a bed jacket with a zipper is a good choice since it is even easier to put on and provides a sporty and casual-chic look. For those mornings when I'm running really late, I can pop on this white classy bed jacket of mine and wear it to work as a warm cardigan! So versatile I tell you these bed jackets are.
